roger wilco settings

day off today so i thought i would go off around Europe and planned myself a three leg hop EGKK/LHBP/EFHK/EGPD and off i went with it being relativaly quiet on Vatsim.

after some dodgy vectoring into EFHK i sat on ground and filed my next plan back into the U.K went to ask for clearance and found i had been disconnected from roger wilco and everyone else was now on text because i was corrupting the channel.

The problem was i needed to set connection speed to slower modem ? i have a dsl modem so could’nt understand what he meant

how had everything been o.k for fours hours then till i got to Finland ?

Anyway i did as asked and then found i could’nt reconnect voice to the server asked him to help and got no reply apart from a private message saying it was’nt his problem.

Does anyone know what the setting should be, and be possibly able to offer some explanation as to what i was doing to his damn sysem ?

Haha, Roger Wilco was one of the best adventure games! Up there with Monkey Island and Sam and Max! Too bad Vivendi closed down the Sierra division recently…

Its a VATSIM thing for their servers as some users have wierd things going on with slow modems and therefore EVERYONE has to set to slow modem even me on 1Mb.

go to www.vatsim.net and click on Pilot Resources Menu then i think Downloads. Then download and setup Advanced Voice Client (AVC) as its the new generate better than Roger Wilco and safer for the network.
