Does anyone know what the ROKAF (Republic of Korea Air Force) serial system is based on? I used to think they used their old USAF serials for most types, but the code/serial tie-ups seem to be all over the place and the non-US types are inconsistent. Perhaps it is like the JASDF that have the date of delivery incorporated in it. Here are some examples of ROKAF serials:
