‘Coasters

Kraken at Seaworld, Florida – verrrrrry long first drop! Definitely the best, and never more than a 5min queue – I guess most vsiiors to Seaworld go to see the whales/dolphins ect, not to scare themselves sh*tless!

Duelling Dragons, Universal Islands of Adventures, Florida – two ‘coasters in one, with close opposition passes at high speeds etc.

The Hulk, Universal Islands of Adventures, Florida – loads of inversions, a rapid acceleration followed by a nasty roll just as it starts, loads of inversions and a couple of “underground” dips though tunnels etc – probably second best of those I’ve ridden after Kraken.

Incidentally they’ve just opened a new one at Busch Gardens, Tampa, Fl, which has two vertical (and I mean vertical – riders will be facing vertically down at the ground) plunges – wasn’t open at Easter when we were there 🙁 , but they were running empty-carriage tests, the main vertical drop looks 😮 😮 😮

In terms of speed and sheer “violence” the wooden-built twin coaster Gwazi at Busch Gardens is probably the best I’ve been on, sure it has none of the state of the art mega drops, no inversions at all etc, but it is very fast, very rough and definitely gets the old adrenaline flowing – what a ride!!!!!

Yes, and when you are in the restaurant at the Stratosphere, that thing on the top is quite anoying, as the whole tower shakes. Not the best place to enjoy an (overpriced!) evening at the restaurant… The view is great, though.

The ride on the top of the Stratosphere is not actually a roller coaster as such. If you want great roller coaster ride in Vegas try the one at the New York New York casino

(1) The Las Vegas Hotel in Question is the Stratosphere. The Coaster itself is pretty slow, it’s good only because of the height – 909 feet high

(2) I went to Alton Towers as a 9 year old kid, was bored even then.

(3) The Best Roller Coasters in the world are in Sandusky, Ohio – Millennium Force . (I have not been on this particular one 😮 – only on Raptor, which held the record for some time).

The one on the top of a building in Vegas is meant to be awsome!

Favourite Kraken, Florida Huge Drop!

Agree with you on that one did it two years ago along with all the parks on the East Coast….some megga ones there…Aerosmith in Universal also gtes my vote…prefer the old woodies though for a true rolloer coaster, Grand National in Blackpool gets my vote on that one!

Forget rollercoasters, go for an Extra 300. Anna probably agrees.
If I had to pick one its Nemesis at Alton Towers.

Neal

Yep the Extra does it for me!!!! trying to convince my 12yr old to take a trip!! Anna 😉 😀
