Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help and point me in the right direction.
I am keen to find a Merlin crankshaft for my own display purposes, therefore it doesn’t have to be in a serviceable condition. I really don’t know where to look but have approached Retro Track & Air in Gloucs. who service/maintain the Merlins for the BoB Memorial Flight but they do not reply to my inquiries.
Would appreciate it very much if anyone can help.

Please send me a PM.

Is those the ones shot from it or at it?

I have a lovely Merlin crankshaft, It was taken out of Douglas Bader’s Spitfire before his last combat mission, I know its genuine as I bought it from an Englishman at Duxford.
Now hmmm ,,, what happened on that last flight? :diablo:

If it’s for display purposes only, what difference does the mark make?
I just wanted something with hopefully a bit of relevant history attached, for which, I know, I will have to pay more money 🙁

Yes, I was aware of that one and did indeed try a bid on it but it was a 600 series engine so later than I ideally wanted anyway.
Appreciate all the posts so far, thank you.

Yep, just looked on eBay, this was it

You will probably find that Retro may well not have any, as any parts scrapped during rebuilds will be the engine owners property, additionally a lot of companies won’t let unserviceable parts out in case they suddenly become Serviceable… You do get the odd one on evil bay or someone here might be able to help, either way, welcome to the forums and goodluck.
