[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-11-02 AT 07:28 AM (GMT)]Hello Forum Members! This is my first post at the “Aviation Forum”.
My question is this: Some months ago I read an article about a new nozzle design for a Rolls-Royce Trent Engine to power the 777. It had a an unusal aft nozzle shape.
Instead of the typical conical nozzle, this one had “serrated petals” that followed the aft circumference of the nozzle. Does anyone have a link to pictures of this nozzle?
Im an airliner artist and would like this much needed reference for a drawing Im working on. Thanks!

PS: Just got back from the Boeing Site and got my answer. Ive posted the subject at a 1:400 model collectors forum called airlinebuzz.com
Heres the link if anyone is interested.

The design of this new noise suppression technology reminded me of the
the early “Organ-Pipe” nozzles of the first generation non-fan engines..only pushed 4 decades past that technology.
Ill be posting my artwork utilizing this concept at airlinesbuzz.com in the near future. Ill be sure to come back and update with a link.
By the way, heres the engine photo:

RE: Rolls-Royce Trent
Presumably similar to the diffuser on the back end of A340 CFM engines. As Kabir says, it does a lot to suppress noise.
