Well I have to admit to being in a lazy mood today, besides it’s cold outside:o
Anyway, I thought I’d follow up the idea of making a Round The World trip and was amazed by the possibilities/prices.
How about this for £860 :-
London – San Francisco – Hong Kong – Singapore – Saigon – Singapore – Penang – Singapore – Cape Town – London
or
London – Singapore – Hanoi – (surface) Saigon – Singapore – Perth – Auckland – Fiji – Los Angeles – Miami – London
(same price)
I think thats incredible value for money!
😀

Batbay, did you get quoted that price from a travel agent of one of the Star Carriers, or did you get that from an independant travel agency?

Good trip! The important aspect of the deal I seem to be promoting(!) is that the ticket is effectively “open” so that one can stay for as long or short a period in each stopover as the mood takes you.

Star Alliance deal starts at £1375 for the lower mileage offer.
The trips quoted above – I have actually made up the itinary and received the Terms and Conditions/Fares is with SQ,VS,and NZ.
Publicised as “The Great Escapade”.
Hopefully might take a trip avoiding USA (perhaps just transit) as I am not prepared to put up with all the hassle that seems to be promised for the furure.

What airline? BA? What conditions? Anyway GREAT value! You seem to be drawn towards Asia? There is this “Star Round the World” with 39000nm, up to 15 stops, one crossing of Atlantic and Pacific for about 2000.- GBP.
How about Europe – some place Western Africa – Kenya – India – Bangkok – Vietnam – China – Japan – Australia – New Zealand – Argentina – Venezuela – northeastern USA – Bermudas – Europe? Propably too many miles …
