Rounded plastic goggles, 1941?

Hi,

I have a picture of my Father taken, l believe in 1940/1 which shows him wearing a pair of rounded plastic or perspex goggles rather than the two piece glass goggles that l wiuld have expected.

Can anyone date these glasses or the helmet he wore at the time?

possibly ‘Luxor’ goggles – privately bought in preference to the issue set (faceted perspex).

ref p. 141 ‘Battle of Britain’ by Richard Townshend Bickers (salamander Books ltd 1990)

run a google image search for ‘luxor goggles’ and it should be a picture of the offending item. If not, one issue set was fairly similar but un tinted and more shaped around the bridge
