Just booked a flight for the Whitsun half term on flymonarch.com. When choosing my seats I realised there was no row 13 on their A321!!!!
Is this common practice or just some airlines are superstitious? 😮

Cannot believe that airlines and aircraft manufacturers give in to this sort of bs in the year of 2006. I regard this as an insult to all aerospace engineers, pilots and mechanics having developed/are working with the aircraft.

Cliff
A bit OTT, considering its the airlines that decide if row 13 is numbered as such.
In anycase you’d be surprised as to how superstitious the industry can be – engineers and pilots included!

Just checked A380 – 10 operators/airlines – 8 with no ‘Row 13’ but a few have got Galley 13 so some people will have to forget about eating!!!!!!

Ops, maybe I should make it clearer than I was flying BHX-BFS as they were flying BFS-ACE, and we were both in 6A :d
By: HON 1R - 23rd April 2006 at 00:53
Incidentally I was assigned seat 6A recently flying back home and simulatenously another family member was assigned seat 6A flying ACE-BFS, freaky or what 😀
Nah, sounds more like the check-in staff just cocked-up 😉

VLM Fokker 50’s have a Row 13 (and it’s the last row too!)

We have row 13 on our aircraft and from time to time people do ask not to sit there. I won’t tell you what I’m thinking while I’m trying to reseat them on a full aircraft.

I flew out in row 13 to FUE a few weeks back on an FCA321

flyBe don’t have row 13 on their aircraft.
By: David2386 - 21st April 2006 at 17:56
I suppose there are those who wouldn’t sit in it, so to avoid any fuss just skip actually numbering a row 13 out.

I’m not superstitous but i’m thinking although its not numbered “13” your still in the thirteenth row right? – I was in Pod 14, the thirteenth on the London Eye which also doesn’t number it
By: Dantheman77 - 21st April 2006 at 15:34
In this modern day and age…people still believe that superstitous (sp?) hocus pocus?
By: David2386 - 21st April 2006 at 13:39
I keep meaning to look each time I fly but forget, though I did notice G-OGBE bmibaby 733 didn’t have a row 13.
