The veteran actor Roy Dotrtice has died, aged 94. I was unaware that he had served in the RAF during WW2, and been a POW from 1942 to 1945. He also appeared in “The Heroes of Telemark”.

Surviving in a raft for three days in winter, he was picked up and sent to a POW camp, where he turned 17.
