Royal Malaysian Air Force(RMAF)is ready to add more aircraft soon.Multi role combat aircraft,airborne early warning,helicopters are likely to be purchased very soon.As matter of fact ,Defence Ministry top brass announced that a squadron of a new generation MRCA will be procure as early as Jan.2003.It is interesting to see again a battle between US and Russian fighters.The RMAF will have to choose between SU 30MKM(SU 37?)and the US made FA 18E/F.Currently Malaysia uses MIG 29N for air superiorty roles,FA 18D in maritime strike and interdiction sorties.Other assets consists of :F 5E/F/RF 5E, Hawk Mk 208/108,Aermacchi MB 339A.Others:PC 7Mk II/I,SME MD3,Alloutte III, Sikorsky S70A,S61A4,Agusta AS 61N/A109C,Beechcraft B200T,Lockheed C 130H/C 130H 30,KC 130H,PC 130H,CN 235 220M,Falcon 900B,Global Express and Fokker F28.Likely to be procure in the next five years:Rooivalk attack helicopter,Ericsson Erieye AEW,Mil 17,Cougar and C 130J?.
