Then stick it all on a DVD so those of us saddo’s that wana watch it all can & it’ll earn abit extra for you guys :diablo:
I never meant to sound criticising, it’s just I for 1 wana watch footage from climbing in to climbing out of the cockpit!
This is something that we will probably be looking at doing next year. As with all these things it will take time to gather all the material required.

We’re glad that everybody has enjoyed the video.
To answer some of the criticisms that we wonβt show the entire in cockpit footage, I’m afraid you won’t see a video of a whole flight for a number of reasons.
The sorties are generally too long and would take a massive amount of time to upload, plus the majority of people would get bored watching, as a considerable proportion of time in these sorties is either transit or holding time.
Quite often various parts of the footage are unusable due to vibration in the airframe at times, affecting the quality of footage. Over or underexposure of light as the aircraft manoeuvres and the camera adjusts to the changing light levels is also a problem. One of the other issues is the sound. Although most of these aircraft sound lovely to a spectator on the ground, that is not the reality in the cockpit. The Swordfish in particular is extremely noisy when the wind blast is added to the engine noise. The reality is that this sounds even worse as a recording than it does in person and tends to sound like horrible static which in my opinion would make the video difficult to watch.
The aim of this video was not show a Sea Fury display from the cockpit but to show a brief history celebrating 40 years of RNHF, plus give a taste of what itβs like in the aircraft. The video was done in a limited amount of time (4 hours!) with limited resource. However I think it has achieved the aim and the vast majority of feedback we have had about the video has been that they have enjoyed it and think that it is very professional. I am delighted with that result as I am neither a professional camera man or film director.
Being a military unit our output has to be of the highest standard with the resource available to us and putting out the raw footage of a display will not achieve that. Therefore any footage we post will have been edited to some degree to ensure the highest quality of media is displayed to the public.
We will be posting other videos in the future, however it takes time to gather the material and then edit it. All of which is done in our spare time as we don’t have a media company doing this on our behalf. We are all serving aircrew with service commitments, and with RNHF in our spare time we donβt have lot of extra spare time to put together these videos.
Please keep a look out for more videos in the near future and subscribe to our Facebook page and our YouTube channel to keep abreast of latest developments. For more detailed information then please visit our main website.
If you have any footage of us at displays, either both on the ground or in the air and it is HD 1080p quality and you would be prepared to let us use it in our future videos then please let me know via PM or email.

Simon Wilson

First class in every way. Thanks for making 40 years of hard effort for our benefit.
It’s always a pleasure to see your aircraft in the air, for me, particularly the stringbag. What a beautiful shape it is, low in the sky.

Oh, I did like that.
Thanks.

For gratuitous Sea Fury TF956 footage including (what must have been an extremely bulky camera) in cockpit, buy the RNHF VHS video now transferred to DVD.
I have it, can’t find where to buy the official DVD tho. But I’m talking about not just the RNHF footage but everyone using GoPro’s. Miss Demeanour must be the only one posting full footage from various points. I’d love to watch the entire flight of the BBMF aircraft doing the jubilee flypast from each camera!!!!

I second that 100%. It doesn’t seem like 40 years. A marvellous achievement! Many congratulations.:D

In my opinion one of the most unique and significant collections of airworthy historic aircraft anywhere in the world, and they have bought pleasure to thousands if not millions of people over the last 40 years.
A lovely fitting video, well done guys :).
