Just booked a trip to the “Land of Smiles” for January (:)) and was wondering about the current state of the RTAF museum at Don Muang. Last time I visited in February the main building was being demolished and most of the exhibits were in the car park. Presumably they’ve rebuilt it by now, but does anyone know what the new building is like, whether there are any new exhibits, etc? Also been told there’s a worthwhile aviation section in the Police Museum in Bangkok; anyone been there? Kop khun Khap!

I visisted in March 2008 and it was still as you describe. Regards the Police Museum, I don’t believe that this is open to the public, you need to find a sponsor! Co-located at Don Muang – albeit in the active area is the Tango Squadron with its fine collection. There were plans to open this up but don’t know if this has progressed.

I learned about the museums long time after my last trip to Luv U Long Time land, otherwise a visit would have been organised!
