Funny who you meet at the airport when you’re hanging around minding your own business.

We had a great time Kev, but you could have taken up my offer of pushing the mother in law in front of the Queens car .

A few more photos from Jersey. There will be others but in a separate thread. All will become clearer then.
The vehicle parade was great, even though not all of the vehicles were representative of the era.
The 21 gun salute was most impressive, especially as Jules and I had spent some time speculating that due to Defence cuts, the salute would be made by twenty-one men shouting BANG! very, very loudly.
Thanks again for a truly memorable day out.
Regards,

I see the Queen had her Morris Dancing hat on.
There was a rumour that Steve Patterson would be making a guest appearance, so she wore it in his honour.

Fantastic photos Ian, especially the Rapide landing on the beach – that one is stunning!

It was a pleasure Kev, and like the present MRS EN830 said, you are more then welcome to return whenever you feel up to it.

Okay, where do I start?
We all know the Channel Islands were occupied, but it’s almost a passing thing. Today, for me, that radically changed. Ian, with his outstanding knowledge of events, brought the occupation to life, relating the experiences of his Father and Uncle and others of the Island who offered their own form of resistance. He took me to the Underground Hospital where it finally hit home as I looked into a room and saw the Nazi flag hanging over a bed. This wasn’t just set dressing or there for dramatic effect. It was real and it was chilling.
I don’t really know how to thank Ian, his Mother and his wife for their hospitality. Suffice to say that thanks to their company I enjoyed a wonderful day, one which I will never forget.
Thank you all.
Kev35 PS I’ll add some of my photo’s when I’m less tired.

Hmmm!
This has got to be a fetish thing. 🙂

The Queen thing is an attempt to slander my name, and I will deny all allegations made against me. It was fancy dress your honour.

He is a mighty fine chap, and it was a pleasure to have his company today, though I wouldn’t say that to his face.
A few more shots, including Mrs EN830 saying goodbye to the Author as he leaves Jersey airport.
