Friends bike with the RR/A 250, says the smoke is from diesel burning off due to a leaking tank sender unit. Looking at the left side when it fires up I have doubts with that diagnosis…. What’s the part on the left that’s spewing smoke?

Looks like the labyrinth seal has gone to me , quite common on the A250.
