All,
Although Airbus have had a Trent 900 on test on one of the A340 prototypes for some time, three weeks ago the first Trent 900 that will actually be hung on the prototype A380 left Nottingham East Midlands Airport for Toulouse. The first engine had the privilege of being carried on Antonov Design Bureau’s magnificent AN-22, whilst about a week ago another engine left for southern France on a Volga Dnepr AN-124. Tonight, another delivery from EMA to TLS, using VDA AN124 RA-82042. This means that the A380 is now getting near to having its full compliment of engines… Only five months or so to go to the first flight!!! 😀
Just thought I’d share a photo – VDA4042 leaves EGNX for LFBO this evening – thank God it did actually take off!!!

That is a stunning shot. You would have been in trouble if it hadn’t got off the ground though wouldn’t you 😀

That’s an exceptional shot! And good news too. Maybe it will already be doing a flyby at next years Paris Air Show.
