RUN RUN RUN AWAY – The World's about to END

Okay the world is about to end 😮 – and the powers that be have said that a giant ark is to be built (hence the reason why we pay more in taxes and get nothing back) and there is room for six small aircraft – the only six to survive the end of the world.

Which six would you choose…

Get the Hughes Spruce goose out of moth balls and take that instead of an Ark

Sorry Phil, I think I’ll have to nominate that one as another ‘fancy lifeboat’!

And in any case there would be no fuel to fly them with

Did anyone here ever read ‘On the beach’ by Nevil Shute?

Still thinking about my nominations by the way (and a Concorde, however appealing wouldn’t fit, Mossie sized maximum remember??) 😉

Away from the giant comet that will crash into the earth causing a giant wave that will wipe out mankind forever. I was thinking of Eastbourne.

Eastbourn or giant comet?

I’ll take my chances with the comet!! 🙂 🙂 😉 😉 🙂

Cheers
Andy

PS. Can this ark have a flying off deck??–It might end up looking a bit like the USS langley.

Methinks we should consider taking three ‘breeding pairs’. 🙂

Mark

😀 Superb answer! Like Stormbird picking five is a nearly impossible task for me, but I’d say I would try to make my choices based upon saving aircraft that would represent specific historical eras so the Wright Flyer and Concorde are definitely choices…

So where does this ark go?

BUT WHICH ONES

Get the Hughes Spruce goose out of moth balls and take that instead of an Ark 😀 , And see what fighters we could fit in  .
But seriously I can never answer these types of threads, I can never decide which ones, I am like the nutty collector from the U.S.A. Walter Soplota 🙂 , When asked if he had any favorites, Shhh they’re all listening, so I wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings. I love every one of ’em.
Cheer’s everyone, Tally Ho! :dev2: Phil.

😀 at Paul.

In which case, on the tow rope will be: Short Sunderland ML417; Dornier Do24ATT; Supermarine Southampton fuselage (with outriggers!); Supermarine Stranraer, Short Sealand; S6B; much of the Italian Air Museum… etc…

Well, classy lifeboats!

“Walrus G-RNLI (a good project to play with) “

Couldn’t they tow her behind?, and have room for something inside as well!

without picking specific airframes:

1. VS Spitfire
2. Wright Flyer 1 : ok specific airframe, but probably the most significant small aircraft ever
3. DH Moth
4. Bristol Fighter
5. Avro Anson
6. Piper pa-28 of some variant
