Similar to the thread we had going on about ‘Die Hard/Under Siege’ and which one was the best (glad to see Die Hard came out on top!:D), I am wondering what people’s opinions are on the difference between the original version of the song ‘Run’ as performed by Snow Patrol, and Leona Lewis’s recent cover version.

As for what I think…well, as much as I like Leona Lewis’s version, I still think the original is the best.:)

I prefer the Snow Patrol version because it’s the original and I prefer a live band (and oh yes) I’ve met and filmed the lads a few times.
As for Leona, nothing against the lass, like Mariah Carey, she has a tremendous larynx, but completely fails to the express the emotion of the original lyric. :confused:

A bit of a boring reply, but I like them both as they offer a male and female vocals which I think bring different things to the song. I think the Snow Patrol version would be a good backing piece for a video showing inspiration/determination or the like, where as the Leona version would be suited to something a bit more emotional.
Queue the stream of posts saying they dislike Leona/X Factor in general and that this thread is a waste of time 😉

The thing I like about Leona’s version is that it isn’t as repetitive, I find I get bored of Snow Patrol’s version ½ way through. On the other side the coin I find Leona too much like Maria Carey during the early 90’s
