Also people seem to fall from aircraft a few times each year. Most recent being into someones house near Paris when the 747(?) lowered the landing gear.
Also has happened at Singapore i believe. Illegal Immigrants are the cause and usually from third world countries where very few security measures around aircraft

Saw Airport once and they went on the runway to pick up crisp packets and on the taxi-way fox poop!

I disagree, things don’t just fall of aircraft. If that happen, then there is a break-down in procedures, either improper inspection techniques or people not following correct procedures during maintainence (e.g. taking short-cuts)
We are getting told the same thing over and over, follow the book…
You mis understood. I meant it happens sometimes that things fall off aircraft.

I’m not saying there is only a language problem in CDG.
My point was the authorities ignore the fact and tried the place the blame elsewhere.

The language problem exists all over the world. I can’t think of any place in which the local ATC will not talk to the local carrier in the local language.

I don’t think it did change much. Every time I listen to CDG atc traffic , AF pilots and ATC speak in French. They switch to english with non native pilots. I don’t think that’s a French only behavior. Russians speak russian to their pilots , and I would be amazed if South american ATC would speak english with the locals.

There was a rarther good investigative documentary on Discovery Channel about the crash. I think you have a copy Sandy ?
Indeed.
Thats where I got most of the information.
I was in total shock to find that French Authorities ignored such blatantly obvious clues and evidence. But now I am not surprised. I read about incidents and accidents in French airspace and airiports, they’ve done it before.
Airbus A320 and Habsheim – Pilot error blamed despite evidence of tampering with the Cockpit voice recorder and Data recorder. Not to mention the destruction of evidence at the seen of the Crash
Streamline Short 330 – CDG airport – At night a british crew lost situational awareness because CDG ATC and Air France Pilot spoke exclusively in French that night. The Streamline crew had no idea that ATC cleared an Air Liberte flight to take off on the runway that they were cleared to cross. French Officials blame Pilot error from the Streamline Crew.
British and Independant reports cite the language barrier on the ATC channels as the cause.
