Hello
My name is Chris and I am from Switzerland. I am nearly 40 years of age and an age-zero adoptee, means my biological mother gave me up for adoption before birth. I have recently finally found and met my biological mother and also gone to the archive of the government agency that handled my case.
The interesting (and relevant to this forum) case is that my mother both 40 years ago and now stated that my biological father told her that he was a “russian” (I guess this can mean any eastern European nation as well) pilot who escaped with his plane to “the west” (the documents from 40 years ago say Turkey, she told me Austria when we met this year). She claimed at the time and still claims not to know his name, because it was “too hard for her to remember the russian name that she could not pronounce”. My biological father also said he cooperated with “the americans”. He was in Switzerland for these discussions (no explanation is given as to why Switzerland, but maybe something related to Neutrality).
After the incident that lead to me, he was never seen again. There are some police documents from the time showing that there was significant effort made in the region trying to find him but there was no trace of him. So there could be another hint that there might be something to the story as he probably was not “some man from the region”.
Also, the story is (except from the Turkey/Austria thing) consistent between what my biological mom told me this year and what the documents from then say. I also do have some slavic features, so there could be some truth to that.
Maybe it’s also just a story my biological father told my biological mother to get the biology going, who knows but if so, it’s at least a good story.
I however would love to find (or at least learn more about) my biological dad. I am born in the 3rd quarter of 1971, so I was probably “made” 😉 in the last quarter of 1970, so anything after that is irrelevant.
Does anyone know a case that might fit? Can anyone point me to some sources?
I already contacted http://www.air-intel.nl.
Many thanks
Chris
