H all
The past few years have been relatively quiet regarding recoveries
from Russia. Have there been any recent discoveries made or is
the barrel drying up?
The Hunt brothers among other things brought back several hurricanes
and Kingcobra’s. At th time they were reported to be put up for sale,
have any of these found their way to a new owner and are under
rebuild or are they still in storage?
Cheers

I’ve always found it rather odd that seemingly large numbers of Hurricanes have been recovered from the former USSR but only a paltry number of Spitfires. Considering that large numbers of Spitfires were shipped to the Soviets I wonder where they all ended up … underground storage hangars?

From what I understand there is still more than plenty over there. Things have been quiet in part due to the various political upheavals n the east, and I think a bit of overstocking in airframes for sale over here, sometimes due to the high prices being asked.
Some airframes like P39’s have little relevance to the UK and internationally I dont think are in big demand. Some of the prices I have seen asked for some of these things are pretty ludicrous, and if prices weren’t met in the good times, in the couurent global economy I dont think demand is going to rise unless prices fall.
