Wonder if there are any Axis aircraft if they’re selling off Axis armour….

Contacted my Russian friends who say there are no aviation related items ( aircraft, engines) and the Tiger , Panther, Elefant statement is pure fantasy.
They do have however loads of T-34s and Russian equipment, along with German/ Allied small arms and machine guns etc.

I’d guess they have gone with the FW190 to Paul Allen’s FHC…

Mmm, makes sense 😮 Should have thought about that too :p

Cheers

Agreed Floyd, but they nevertheless advise Lend-Lease items for sale

As regards the lend-lease items, are they theirs to dispose of?
Destroy or pay was the idea, and since they obviously haven’t been destroyed…?

Where have the two absolute pristine BMW 801 engines gone I spotted in one of the hangers at North Weald in 1998? They came from Russia I was told by one of the engineers present. I think it was the hanger where the Doug Arnold aircraft were stored in containers.

Dave,
Look on the right hand side under ‘latest news’ and scroll down in that window to the Nov 16th 2004 date, and you’ll see the bit about ‘second world wars to foreign museums’ bit – click on the more info link next to that date, and it’ll bring up a seperate window. The Tigers, Panthers etc are mentioned right near the bottom of that page.

😮 😮

Well, the persistant rumours of all those years ago seem true then, and the Soviets DID stash everything away into storage.

I know several crates of factory fresh M1928 Thompsons found their way to the UK from Russia a while back…… 😀
