Can someone clear this up for me as i am a lowely newcomer to the hierarchy of the aviation people.
Is the Yak-128 / 141 “Freestyler” the Russian answer to the JSF or is it just a prototype thats never gonna see production? I’ve seen pictures of it and its looks pretty similar to the F-35, particularly with its engine exhaust angled down in the same VTOL confiugration as the F-35 (carrier landings). I’m not sure of this aircraft is just strictly naval use only.
Secondly, what is the proper designation fro the Russian stealth fighter, “Bourkat” / Golden Eagle. I’ve heard so many different versions, but I think it will be Sukhoi Su-40.
I would not be suprised if this thing will be able to take on F-22 at its very best. This thing looks mean, and it apparnetly has longer range, as well as ground-attack ability.
Secondly, the Russians are supposed to have got hold of an F-117 wreck from Serbia when an SA-3 knocked one out a couple of years ago. Surely this would have found its way into the Russian defence industry?
