Ryanair advertising on TV

Saw Ryanair peddling their cheap wares on national TV last night – straight after the ITV 10 O’Clock news… 😮

Things must be getting worse for Scumbag O’Riley if he’s having to pay out for TV ads now! :diablo::p

Are you sure they haven’t thought of a way to charge ITV for running their advert :D

You mean Michael O’Leary? 😉

I suspect Mr Skymonster has got that the ‘right’ way round somehow…

If I remember correctly, didn’t they sponsor Sky News Weather until a few years ago…

You never know… Qatar might go the same way 🙂

And here I was thinking you just wanted yet another excuse to have a go at Ryanair.

Paul

Of course that is all it is

Interesting now to note that RYR is now Europe’s biggest short haul carrier, and number 2 between the UK and EU (in terms of seats) behind….well EZY of course. BA comes in at number 3.

I have no doubts as to the impact good T.V advertising can have on a product, but surely this is wasted on Ryanair. I would imagin by now that anyone in the U.K who is looking for a cheap(sometimes!!) airline ticket will almost always think straightaway, Ryanair or EasyJet.

I am rather surprised that they’ve now found it necessary to start using this rather expensive channel to market – that’s all.

What’s the significance of O’Riley…

Is it a play on words, or is it just people getting his name wrong???

Who’s O’ Riley?

Irish loud mouth, head of Ryanair – you know!

I had no idea TV advertisiing was a sign of things being bad for airlines – bad news for Jet2, British Airways, easyJet, Qantas and all those other airlines that have advertised on television….

Given Ryanair have not previously advertised on TV (at least as far as I am aware in our area anyway), I am rather surprised that they’ve now found it necessary to start using this rather expensive channel to market – that’s all. They are going to have to sell an aweful lot of £1 flights (this is waht they seemed to be advertising) in order to pay for the commercial… Or more accurately, they’re going to have to charge a lot of punters for checkin, and baggage, to pay for the advert! 😉
