Ryanair/Buzz BAe146 routes?

Can any of you lovely people out there tell me which routes are now operated by Ryanair using Buzz’s BAe 146 aircraft?

The only one I am aware of so far is STN/BLK (Blackpool).

What with the BAe146 being a favourite aircraft of mine and with me never having flown on it, I reckon I should try to remedy this before they head off back to Holland (or wherever they are going to end up).

Cheers peeps!

Though I would not be certain, your best chance of flying the BAe 146 would be on some of Ryanair’s French destinations such as Bergerac and Brest.

I’d just like to mention……

…….that although my last two employers are now no longer and I work in Revenue Accounting, I don’t consider myself responsible for either demise!! 😀 😀

Cheers and thank for the explanation, just curious as to your occupation within the aviation biz.

As for the meet, it’s not planned as an annual event, more a one off. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be repeated from time to time though if it goes well.

Some of the guys will be meeting at MAN for the Champions League final as well to see what charters come in. You could possibly try and get to that ?

Definition of ‘trade’

Ren – I have worked for scheduled airlines for the last 10 years, throughout, doing what they call Revenue Accounting. After 4 years at Business Air (DND), I then headed south to Gill Airways (NCL) for just over two years to do the same. Nowadays, after a step up, I’m at Monarch (LTN), working solely on the Scheduled side – still Accounting for that Revenue (and thankfully there is some!!).

I hope you now understand why ‘trade’ was written as such.

Before I go and this isn’t the correct forum, I know, is the Manchester Meet an annual (or more regular) event? I’m unlikely to be able to make it to the one in July, but I would be interested in future events, should there be any more. I dare say I can drag Wingflaps2 along too.

Regards,
Dean.

Cheers for that Ren – pure dead braw so it is. And as much as it kills me to say so, that particular type of aircraft really suits the BA livery. Although, Business Air’s livery will always remain my favourite. For no other reason than they were the company that gave me my ‘trade’ – I was so happy working for them. Ahhhh! Dundee Airport will never be the same without them.

Well, bugger me, I just searched the CAA G-INFO database and G-GNTZ is a 146-200 built in 1984 and the registered owner is BA CitiExpress, c/o Ronaldsway Airport, IOM.

This is double verified by the following pic:

That aircraft (G-GNTZ) was parked up for a few months at IOM a while back, wearing a blue EU flag on the tail. It flew out, so presumably is back in service with someone now.

I suppose on a 3+3 config 146, you’d be OK in an aisle seat but nowhere else. In a window seat, you can’t sit up straight because the fuselage curves into your head space too much.

2+3 is actually very comfy, in any seat!

BAe146 3+3

Well bugger me!! You know, I never knew that 3+3 config was possible on the BAe146 family. Back in the olden days when I worked for Business Air, we had a BAe146-200 that used to operate LCY/FRA/LCY, LCY/HAM/LCY and GLA/FRA/GLA (at weekends only on behalf of the LH big brother). I’m almost certain that this aircraft was in a 3 + 2 config. However, I never flew on the thing.

I believe that the aircraft went to British Regional and operated INV/LGW/INV. Anyone know if it is still doing this route?

Ta!

Dean.

I flew up to Blackpool on a Buzz 146 last monday and I’d highly recommend it. It was six abreat seating but it wasn’t too uncomfortable. It was the first time I’d ever flown on a 146, but just like you it’s my favourite aircraft and monday has only increased by love of it 🙂

Mongu, Flybe. is six abreast.

Lufthansa operate the RJ 85 and the Q400s. Eurowings used to offer Paderborn on the 146. I would say Aer Lingus is your best option from LCY as they can’t exactly surprise you. Maybe AF to Orly? Too many options 🙂

If you’re really desperate to fly the 146, BA are operating them thrice daily (on weekdays) GLA-LCY, and once on Sundays. (no Saturday service).

Or LX to Zurich? (although some of those services are operated by Saab 2000’s.

What do LH operate out of LCY? Talking of whom, their Junkers Ju-52 will be visiting LCY offering sightseeing trips (can’t remember the exact date, though), to promote their new routes to LCY since the summer timetable came into effect.

I’d recommend being careful that you fly on a 146 with the 5-abreast seating. If it’s 6-abreast you’ll be uncomfortable and end up disliking the 146.

I’m sure Buzz have 6-abreast. What about Flybe, Adrian?

From LCY, you could look at BA (though they fly Avro RJ100’s not 146’s) and Aer Lingus as well.

I know what you mean about British European forever changing their network. If I was told I was on a BAe 146 then find out it was a Dash 8-100 I know how I would feel 😡 Anyway, I still can’t except them as low cost using the destinations and aircraft they do, they will always be a domestic airline to me.
Still they provide a good service and some good prices like the £19.98 LGW-GCI offer. To be honest everybody over here has gone Flybe. crazy with some of the prices they are offering. I am flying GCI-SOU in two weeks time on the DHC 8 though I don’t think I got the flight as cheap as they are offering.

Another 146 offer by the way could be Air Berlin to Dusseldorf Express? I would stick to Flybe 😉
