Ryanair announced today that it would be launching a new twice a day direct service from London Luton Airport to Milan-Bergamo Airport starting on February 6th 2003.
Single fares will start as low as £12.49.
Flight time will be 2 hours and departures from Luton will at 12.20 & 16.00 hrs. Inbound flights will depart Milan at 10.55 & 14.35 hrs, landing at Luton at 11.55 & 15.35 hrs respectively (all times local).
Paul Kehoe, Managing Director at London Luton Airport said “This is a particularly exciting development for us as this is the second destination that Ryanair will serve from London Luton and their first new service here for ten years. This underlines Luton’s increasing attraction as the airport of choice for both business and leisure travellers.
This is also our second new low cost destination within eight days, having announced the Hapag-Lloyd Express service to Cologne / Bonn last Wednesday.
Milan-Bergamo is the first direct scheduled service to Italy that we have been able to offer passengers for some time so this marks a significant addition to London Luton’s route portfolio”.
“Ryanair are a major airline and naturally we are delighted with this further endorsement of Luton Airport’s convenience for London and excellent customer facilities. It again highlights our importance as part of the UK and the South East of England’s transport infrastructure”.
Bookings can be made on-line for the London Luton to Milan-Bergamo & Dublin services at http://www.ryanair.com.

RE: Ryanair going from luton – milan
its nice that Luton has got a piece of the Ryanair action, they were kind of forgotten with FR concentrating everything at Stansted.

RE: Ryanair going from luton – milan
If the EZY takeover of dba goes ahead then they will obviously have a bigger presence in Germany, though we haven’t heard much about that latley so I don’t know what is happening.
With regards to Italy, before EZY took over GO it was quite surprising why they didn’t offer Italian destinations. However, with Easyjet now merged with GO,they offer Bologna, Milan,Naples,Rome and Venice and the same in Germany with Munich.

RE: Ryanair going from luton – milan
i’m surprised easyjet never offered more italian connections or german ones – these were untapped markets which they could have worked within competitionless
