Ryanair News

Ryanair has confirmed a widespread expansion for the winter season, during which the airline will operate on 125 routes to 84 destinations in 16 countries. The low cost airline will introduce additional daily frequencies tto Bolonga, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Newcastle, Newquay, Oslo, Rome, Stockholm and Verona and intends to double frequencies from 3 to 6 times daily from October 26.

Jet2 would be interesting from Bournemouth though the destinations would be fairly limited I suppose if you consider that Flybe. and Jet2 have a very similar network so how that could work would be questionable.

Bhoy, good point there mate, Ryanair are marketing Bournemouth as having four destinations now, but only three will be running at anyone time…….cheeky :p

I am, as you pointed out, free to air my opinions. I do not need people like yourself telling me what I can and can’t say here. Also, whre I should go if I want to speak like that. If such things aren’t said, the forum would be incredibly dull. If I did not say that, this topic would no doubt be dead by now. Topics which only last for a day are two are tedious. However, ongoing topics are always good fun and my reply was in response to someone who said that Girona was called Barcelona-Girona.

If you’re going to play Mr. Moderator and lay down the rules for us, I want you to do the following.

* Since I was not allowed to go off topic because this was a Ryanair News topic – give LBARULES a good telling off. In all fairness, he was the first person to talk about Ryanair calling Girona, Barcelona.

* Secondly, I must let people make up their own minds. Then what is Saab 2000 doing? “You’ve got to admire Ryanair…” Err. no, not quite. I’ll make up own mind.

No offence to the two mentioned, but a fair point, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Never again do you tell me what I can and cannot say on a forum I have been using for almost 2 years, considerably longer than you. You cannot expect just to come in and be the “control freak” who constantly wants things their own way.

this new destination from Bournemouth brings the list up to four destinations from Ryanair to Frankfurt/Hahn, Dublin, Barcelona/Girona and Glasgow Prestwick.

However, it isn’t all good news for Bournemouth as the Barcelona route will be replacing it’s current once daily service to Frankfurt/Hahn.

T5 is free to air his opinions, bien sur.

But then, so am I. Even I pose questions re Ryanair, but mostly in jest.

Maybe I was too harsh this time (hot off another forum where similar rubbish was written), but my opinion at the time was that T5’s tone in this, and other FR-related threads was derogatory, and I reserve the right to question why this is necessary. Apart from that, the thread was beginning to turn into another silly argument about FR’s use of 2ary airfields, a subject which has been done to death, and everyone already knows about.

I guess I got a little hot under the collar, but not for no reason. As I said, if pple want to air grievances about FR, that’s A-OK with me (no doubt some are justified), but not in the middle of another thread which deals with GOOD news.

Are you a Ryanair employee? Good on you if you are – let’s not get me wrong here. Thanks to them I have ‘been around’ this year. I am a glad they are around. However, T5’s opinion is allowed to be aired on the forum – that’s what it’s about, surely? I think your tone (if you can call it that when it’s in writing!), was slightly harsh.

Can’t we all be friends on this forum? – PPRuNe seems to be the place for tireless bitching, especially if you are a pilot!

I didn’t hear anything about Jet2 at Bournemouth but you would have to say that it would be an ideal move with Channel Express being based there.

It’s only a matter of time until a loco takes up Buzz’s place at Bournemouth.

You have to admire Ryanair, if anybody will be around after saturation point is reached then certainly it will be them through O’Leary’s tough talk and management. You only have to look at how many small towns and cities want a piece of the action to see their astounding success. Just look at what they have bough the local economy of Cornwall as an example of the Ryanair “Magic”, so to speak.

Anyway, did anybody hear the rumours of Jet2 down at Bournemouth?

Ah yes, but this bus will cost some money, possibly even as much as the £30 flight that the passengers are on.

And Ryanair will be working with the bus company. By throwing business its way, they are going to want commission. So it seems fair, but really it’s not.

To be fair to Ryanair, they do always offer a bus service to the city in question which connects with every flight.

That’s apparently what Ryanair do. They claim to take you to a well known city airport (BCN in this case) and then they dump you off at some cheap equivalent, several miles away.

I guess it is much like a person wanting to fly into London (presumably Heathrow) but actually being flown into Luton or Stansted.

It could be a possibilty that Bournemouth will be the next British base – they did cancel the buzz contract there but never ruled out that they wouldnt return. Fingers crossed!

Hey come on guys, everyone already knows the deal with Ryanair and the airports they use…no need to start another thread about that!

I hope the communities at either end of each route derive benefit from the new services – not just of Ryanair, but other LCCs.

I think it’s great to see regional airports being served in this way. If BA ain’t interested, so much the better if LCCs come in instead.

I know Ren, When I flew to Girona in 99 I went on a trip to Barca and was about 2 hours away. But thats Ryanair for you.

Have you ever tried getting to Barcelona from Girona ? A cab to the station (20 mins), a train to Barcelona (90mins). It’s a bit like calling Dundee Airport, Glasgow-Dundee.

Good news for Bournemouth, Ryanair obviously teaching someone a lesson….
