Ryanair open new base at BRS with 13 routes

I knew about this one coming up, but here are the details…

Ryanair to open 13 routes from new Bristol base
London (24May07, 11:04 GMT, 132 words)

Irish budget carrier Ryanair is to establish another European base, at Bristol in the UK, and open 13 new routes from the station, half of them to Eastern Europe.

Two Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be based at Bristol.

Ryanair will open services to Poznan, Wroclaw, Rzeszow and Katowice in Poland. It will also serve Bratislava, Riga and Budapest. The carrier until now has not served Budapest, but this marks a second link to the city from the UK announced this month – it will also fly there from East Midlands Airport.

Other connections will open to Bergamo, Salzburg, Dinard and Porto, and the Irish destinations of Knock and Derry. All the new routes will begin in November and December.

Bristol brings to 20 the number of bases Ryanair has set up in Europe.

Good news from BRS and Ryanair. Just wonder now when they have a base at BOH.

Fantastic news for Bristol! 🙂

On Monday I booked a return flight to DUB for 2p! Ticket price was 0.01 GBP each way and Ryanair covered all taxes, charges etc.

“Ryanair will open services to Poznan, Wroclaw, Rzeszow and Katowice in Poland.”

So can you confirm that there is a big demand from Bristol to Poland and vice versa? Obviously I am fishing for some background info. which I do not have knowledge of.

Bristol has a large Polish community, which has been in existance for quite some time. Obviously with Poland now part of the EU it’s growing considerably so I think it’s safe to say there will be plenty of demand.

Regards,

Joe

All those aircraft have to go somewhere I suppose (probably Cardiff when BRS fogs!

Well easyland has transferred to CWL, during JAN with the runway issues.
Cant see Ryanair be too sweet at CWL tho! :diablo: 😀
BHX for them!

As Tom says, complementing quite nicely there with the selection of routes. To be honest they could set up a route structure like that out of many places in the UK as the destinations are so varied compared to other LCCs.

For example ex LBA only BGY,SZG and KTW would be competed on (with KRK to KTW alternate). Same would go ex-NCL. All those aircraft have to go somewhere I suppose (probably Cardiff when BRS fogs! 😀 )

What fantastic news for Bristol, and great that they are offering routes that easyJet do not currently serve. I can see both airlines complementing each other quite well @ BRS.
