My, what a candid response! Just to pick up on one point, I generally don’t just sling accusations at people. There’s usually a fact or two to help prop it up.
Sorry, but this is right off topic but not worthy of a brand new thread……..
If I can offer an opinion, you need to chill out a bit in your posts, Danairboy. Whether you mean them to be or not, I (and several others) find most of them have an abrupt nature and you’re not likely to win any friends like that on the forum. We all need to reconsider our actions from time to time and sometimes it’s difficult to see other people’s points of view, especially when our own are so strong. As this is a forum for people with a common interest, surely we can all give our opinion in such a way that it makes the point, but doesn’t rub others up the wrong way in the process? It would be a boring forum if everyone agreed on everything, but it will become a bore also, if members leave because they no longer enjoy reading the threads because of the posts of a few. This should be an enjoyable leisure activity. Let’s enjoy it and be nice to our fellow members and bring this Commerical Aviation Forum back to its old self. We all know your opinions on the old days of gracious flying by now – honestly, we do. We all know that things have changed in the industry beyond recognition in some respects. By continually repeating these points of view, you prompt others’ knee-jerk reactions, mine included.
In my own case, I find myself having to defend the company I work for from being hauled over the hot coals that are your negative and hateful (your word) remarks about Monarch. I may even share some of your views about Monarch’s recent changes, however, these decisions have been made for good reasons and as I would like to continue to work for Monarch, I will give them my full support to help ensure we all have jobs to go to tomorrow – even if that means having to accept decisions that I don’t feel are for the best initially. So far, Monarch have proved me wrong, in time, with all the decisions I have had doubts about. We have lasted 36 years so far and may even be one of the longest established names in the UK aviation industry these days, now that the Britannia brand is on the way out. By all means have your opinions, but please present them tactfully and try to avoid head on, full-scale attacks on individuals and airlines alike. We’ll all benefit if all members can post in this manner.
Thanks for listening (well, reading!)

I dont work, through choice, I might add. I dont claim any unemployement or incapacity benefit before you accuse me of that. My nanna funds my trips abroad and her and my parents assist me financially.
I will go back to work when I feel ready. I had a neurological problem a few years ago which left me with nerve palsies and although much beter I am enjoying not having to work for awhile. I dont claim sick money and I suppose I could be entitled to it. So I am lucky boy at the moment.

Regardless of whether or not this airport is in Milan, I think danairboy is simply pointing out that Bergamo is quite a way from the the city of Milan
Yes he is saying that but its not true, Bergamo is closer to the city then Malpensa and Linate are. Just because its Ryanair flying to the airport does not mean the airport is 1million miles away from anywhere

Like Stansted. That’s a London Airport (officially), as is Manston (which is in Kent).

Danairboy, I feel it necessary to correct you on your last post. If you would take the time to look at LTN’s website here you may find that many of the arrivals are EZY, ZB, FR etc. None of these are charter airlines.
Also, you say that LTN is nowhere near London…..WRONG! Luton is 20 miles to Barnet, north London. Which is like 20 minutes on the train.
Just thought I would point that out.

They call Luton a London airport and thats a hoot! We all know Luton isnt London or anywhere near! Luton is the place of charter flights, wicker Spanish donkeys and Lorraine Chase, always will be despite the no-frills airlines wanting us to believe they fly from a legit London airport!

Danairboy, I’m afraid it is actually a fact that Bergamo is Milan’s third airport. Also as I’ve said it is nearer to Milan than Malpensa. If we’re going to go by the Bergamo is Bergamo rule then Gatwick is Crawley etc etc!! Accept facts and stop bloody moaning!!! 😉

Bergamo is Bergamo. Only Linate and Malpensa are officially Milan airports!
Bergamo is an airport better suited to Italian ski-charters not scheduled flights.
