Ryanair today announced a new daily flight from Dublin to Reus (Salou) in Spain with fares from an incredible €29.99! (inc taxes).
This latest announcement follows last weeks new route launches of flights from Dublin to Murcia (Spain), and Dublin to Nottingham East Midlands. All three services will commence on 29th April 04, and can be booked from today at http://www.ryanair.com.
Commenting on the new route launch, Ryanair’s Deputy Chief Executive Michael Cawley said:
“Today’s announcement of our new daily service linking Dublin with Reus (Salou) on the Spanish Costa Dorada is more great news for Irish consumers. Thanks to Ryanair, it has never been cheaper or easier to hit the hot spots like Salou on the Costa Dorada, or a treat for the kids to the famous “Universal Mediterranea” theme park.
Nobody can match Ryanair’s low fares, and Irish consumers can grab a seat to the sun from an incredible €29.99!, representing savings of €190.00* on Aer Lingus’ high fares to Barcelona. At these fantastic low fares, we expect huge demand and we would advise passengers to book immediately at http://www.ryanair.com“

Ryanair was originally looking at Hungary, but eventually easyJet was first. I think Ryanair doesn’t have much more countries to expand in, maybe yugoslavia (poor country? don’t know?).

Easyjet have already begun to move east with Budapest and Ljubljana.Im sure Ryanair will also begin the move in that direction.Russia I cant see for a while yet and Im not to sure about northerna Africa either.Maybe some holiday routes in Egypt.

I think now that Easyjet and Ryanair are expanding so well in Europe they should start pushing for rights to North Africa and Eastern Europe/Russia im sure those routes will be heaps popular!

I will be flying Iberia DUB-BCN-ALC in august and for a family of 6 it was almost 1000euro yes 1000 cheaper to fly with Iberia through Barcelona rather than flying Aer Lingus direct to ALC.

Thats strange, I would have thought they would have “arranged” their prices to be coincidentally similar as they are both in OneWorld

Iberia have uch much cheaper fares than Aer Lingus on the DUB-BCN route.

Good news for us Dubs.I think though that most people travelling to solou will or have booked through travel agents and are opting for the whole package holiday thing so maybe 7 flights a week is a little to much. Also with Murcia alot of people have already book with Aer Lingus on the routes into Alicante and Valencia so maybe that wont work but Murcia wont be daily.Do you think they are opting for Murcia to avoid Alicante and Valencia.
