MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russian company Almaz-Antei has completed its first delivery of the S-300PMU1 missile air defense system to Vietnam, the company press-service said Thursday.

The deliveries are being made in accordance with a contract signed on August 8, 2003 between Russian arms trade monopolist Rosoboronexport and the Vietnamese government.

Missile air defense system S-300 and its modifications are one of the most popular Russian brands on the air defense market. The first foreign contracts were signed in 1994 with China, and then with Cyprus. The contract with Vietnam was signed during the MAKS-2003 air show. Under the contract, missile air defense systems S-300PMU1 sufficient for up to two battalions will be delivered, at an approximate price of $250-300 million.

Yep, and where’s the s-400?

Why do you think a thread about a sale of S-300PMU-1s should contain information about S-400s?

Does the fact that the S-300PMU-1 is selling mean the S-400 doesn’t exist?

The Russians already have the 250km range SA-5 in service for long range engagements and the S-400 is being introduced now as funds allow. Would you prefer a bankrupt economy and a military budget of 40% GDP? I can understand why you would want that with the threat of a US invasion of Russia so great they certainly need to massively upgrade their forces… NOT.
