I found this pic of a Tracker taken in 1957. The Designation on the tail says it is a S2F-4 however I can’t find any mention in any texts of any Tracker using a designation past S2F-3 before the change to S-2 in 1962.
Suggestions?

Here you can find detailed describtions of the several Tracker conversions – but no 2F2-4…
http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avtrakr.html
2F2-4 is mentioned in this list
http://www.marchfield.org/rouen08.html
Bu133201 was a S2F-1 version c/n 172

This pic http://www.pbase.com/marauder61/image/55282369
shows c/n 193 – but this was Bu133222

Tracker
While working in Guantanamo Bay in 1994 a friend found a tracker while spearfishing/diving,a party of us used to dive it on a regular basis.Apparently it crashed (looks like double eng failure)after taking of and is now at 38 metres with wheels up but bomb bay doors open.Research has it crashing C 1971.There are several fuselages dumped around the bay including a bearcat ,navy type Harvard and a fairchild -123(?).

Just had a look on Wikipedia and found that the -3 was a -2 with enlarged forward fuselage and tail surfaces plus increased fuel capacity. I wouldn’t put too much faith in the accuracy of that though as we all know what wiki is like. Mostly accurate but sometimes very, very wrong.
