I am putting money on it being a food truck for flights and is refridgerated. Hence the strong walls!
It’s probably the same plastic-composite-type material most modern truck boxes are made from, which I’ve run 450 kilo mixing desks into enough times to know it doesn’t bend easily!
It’s also remarkable how well it stands up to the impact when you’re getting trucks into silly small places and accidentally hit the wall as well, although it does scratch quite easily…

It looks like a lift truck ..so i dare say the box would be made of a lightweight aluminium
If it were made of lightweight aluminium I dare say it would have pretty much been ripped apart or at least severely dented when the wing hit it!

There probably wouldn’t be much damage to the box on the truck as the material they’re generally made from is extremely strong. I’ll bet the side of the cab is in quite a mess though. I hope no-one was in the truck at the time!

Im surprised at the little damage to the truck. Wingtips seem to get ripped off on a regular enough basis at airports but this incident did not damage to a large extent. The load bearing capability on those must be awesome!

It did it with such ease.
Indeed, but that truck looks like it’s around the size of a 7.5 tonner, and the plane could weigh in the region of 80 tons. I know which one my money’s on to win!

I’m pretty sure the pilots can’t see their wings in the 738 so marshalers are a must in order to assure clearance with passing obstacles. Obviously we don’t know the whole story. Did he have marshalers? Was that truck illegally parked there and not clear of the taxiway? Did the captain try to navigate his way around the truck(s) without proper ground support? At least no one was hurt and just egos were bruised.
