Just wondering what the opinions are on this aircraft and its newer brethren. I really like the 340, and the 2000 looks kinda interesting. A 340 flies in and out of the airport in my town all the time.

RE: Saab 340 & 2000
I have travelled on the saab 340 of my local airline Aurigny from Guernsey to Amsterdam.Again very quiet inside, unfortunately a bit cramped althought the flight was excellent.I like the saab 2000 as well (hence my name)i see the crossair saab 2000’s nearly every day at Guernsey.
Regards Saab 2000
p.s Does anyone know what is happening to British Midland Commuter’s Saab 340’s?i heard that they were getting rid of them for the BAe 146.

I flew the 340 and it´s quiet, confortable and not too small. Good pitch, space and even spacious racks.

RE: Saab 340 & 2000
Indeed, when LX first introduced the 2000, it was anounced as the world’s fastest turboprop, and promtly dubbed ‘concordino’. LX is currently, however selling their 340’s (they now only have 2 left), replacing them with larger a/c.
I travelled on an LX 340 from BRU to BSL six months ago, and my only problem with it is it’s very cramped inside, but then, all planes are, nowadays. On the return flight to BRU, I flew on the 2000 for the first time. Inside, they’re pretty much the same, except for the noise level.
Nice couple of aircraft.

RE: Saab 340 & 2000
Saab 340 and 2000 are both excellent aircraft, and Crossair is very happy with them. I have travelled in the 2000, its very good and comfortable, but from outside its a little bit to streched out. Althou i have noticed the 2000 is more quiter than many turbo props.
