Could an AESA radar be used to guide a PGM in SARH mode, given the fact that AESA emissions can be directed accurately? Would it be possible to do multi-targetting if each target is painted with a different frequency? That would be more resistant to jamming than using GPS. The weapon could have a terminal seeker to get a direct hit. Or the target could be laser designated for a laser guided weapon during the last 3 seconds or so of flight.
It wouldn’t be too practical for an F-22 or F-35 because their antennas are fixed so they would have to be flying towards the targets while they guide the weapons. It would work better with a radar on a gimballed system.
