SAS MD-80 now in Star Alliance colours

Fresh out of the paintshop in Stavanger comes this MD-82, OY-KHE of SAS, now wearing Star Alliance colours. It is the third aircraft in SAS’ fleet with this livery after an A330-300 and a 737-800. Photo was taken yesterday and comes from http://www.airpics.com.

I flew a mbi Star billboard A321 to LHR from MAN last month if u may remember 😉

The A321 in Star Alliance colours is G-MIDL and the Star Alliance colours you see on the bmi A320 there are the old ones and I believe that is G-MIDW(??)

“On the Star Alliance theme, does anybody know what airline the below aircraft belongs to, it was seen at LHR.”

All 3 planes in your pic are as follows:

South African
Qantas
Bmi

or gold screws.

Some arab is getting his bbj fitted with an interior that is held together by gold plated screws!

Years ago I took a tour of a company that does custom enteriors for biz jets. Among the stories that the guide shared was of a customer who wanted every bit of exposed metal to be 24 carat gold plated, even the seat rails. The salesmen had tried to explain that any gold put on the seat rails would wear off after using the chair. No matter, if need be more gold could be added later.

Ah, to be rich and stupid. 🙂

The 767 is having an interior installed at Jet Aviation here in Basel just now. Generally takes around 6 months, depending how many gold taps he wants built in…

It was leased by Roman Abramovich (the owner of Chelsea FC). Combined business and pleasure trip I think.

I guess his BBJ was at the garage at the time, hasn’t he got a 767 as well ?

Anyone got any idea why the Multiflight BBJ2 was in Norway?

That SAS one is looking very nice indeed, but the Singapore Airlines seems to be wearing a somewhat “unofficial” Star Alliance Colour Scheme. I’m sure the titles were supposed to stretch over the entire side of the fuselage with the airlne logo just beneath.

Yeah, I agree with MANAIRPORTMAD, there are too many good liveries being destroyed by either the very boring and plane Star Aliance livery, or the TUI rubbish.

hmmm, I like it, but its nothing special. I liked the days when every airline had their own design, now its either loads of TUI, or loads of Star alliance!!

I think SAS should cover the entire engine with red paint, it would look so much better!

We all do…and still six years after the current colours were introduced, noone has come up with an explanation as to why the engines are only half red!

Not a clue about the BBJ, but with regards to the MD – i think the only thing that looks wrong are the engines. I think SAS should cover the entire engine with red paint, it would look so much better!
