I noticed when reading Ghost Force: The Secret History Of The SAS by Ken Connor,
That they claim David Stirling’s SAS born in 1941, Actually destroyed more enemy aircraft then the Crabs(RAF:rolleyes: ) in the Western Desert 😮 .
Is this fair dinkem or what  ,
How would have one came to work out the number’s involved, did someone try and itemise the lot of em and how they were destroyed!
Comment’s most welcome please 🙂 .

G’ day Wex Boy mate.
I don’t usually do many ground pounder book’s:rolleyes: .
But I have really enjoyed this book, lot’s a good world history in it 🙂 .
And of course it has lot’s of different type’s of aircraft here and there(Chopper’s Too), and lot’s of full on ball tearing adventure’s.
I also found Ken’s sence of humour preety much match’s mine, that dude would be one mean mutha F er to meet in a dark alley 😮 .
He even cover’s the TSR 2 sad story, and the politic’s and yank’s involved in it.
MAN!! these SAS guy’s must have BALL’S like bull’s 😀
Open’s the lid of course on many many of the naughty thing’s the Pom’s were getting up too around the world.
And just how poorly the upper crust defence knob’s treated the SAS, or should I say used up and spat out!
I never realised just how much infighting, between the different Pom service’s still continued past WW1 right through to the Falk’s and beyond.
Lucky the Falk gamble payed off hey, look’s like it could have gone even more Pear shaped then it did very easily.
As Ken say’s the very thin pink line around the world, had alway’s been held together with mostly BLUFF, are you Pom’s good Poker player’s as the Yank’s or WHAT!!
Everyone of the service’s were alway’s so short of money, and neck’s alway’s streched on the chopping block’s for disbandement.
So many of the Lad’s died and are still dropping off from just what that kind of warfare doe’s to the mind and body.
And yes there’s a good lot on Andy Mc Nab’s and his lad’s fun little walk about tour of Iraq……
Here’s a list roughly of what it cover’s.
Desert Warrrior’s 1941-45
Malaya 1950-58
Jebel Akhdar 1958-59
Return to the West 1958-59
Brunei and Borneo 1962-66
The Kennedy Assassination 1963
Aden 1964-67
Operation Storm, Dhofar 1970-77

Terrorism 1968-98
Iranian Embassy 1980
The Falklands 1982
Afghanistan 1982-89
Cold War 1945-90

And last Ken talk’s about how he see’s the Future of the SAS.
Here’s the Book’s detail’s one more time for those interested outthere.

Must take a look at that book, My Grandfather transferred from the Paras into Raiding Forces (SAS & LRDG) late in 1941 and spent some time working behind enemy lines;)
Unfortunately his War diary stops when he transfers
