Did my first triple-header of the year on Saturday, with a trip that took in North Weald, Duxford and Old Warden. I was greeted at North Weald with the departure of one of the locally based Jet Provosts and there was plenty of GA activity, as well as a lovely looking biz-jet from, I assume, Weald Aviation. Duxford was typically quiet, so I left the camera in the bag and had a quick look at the Buchon in hangar 2 before heading over to Old Warden. Quite a lot on the GA front including a nice Colt, but the highlight was the flight from Peter Holloway’s Bucker Bestmann. One of my Collection favourites, it was a delight to see her fly again.
Still getting used to the 400 prime/50D combo – that’s one hefty lens to be wielding, after having used the much lighter 70-300mm with the smaller 400D in years past! Hopefully the training week will give me a chance to sharpen up my skills (if you’ll pardon the pun)!
Hope you find something you enjoy – more at http://www.flickr.com/photos/esmarsh. ๐

Except it’s one I face rather more often than I would like.

A dilemma and, indeed, nightmare we’ve all faced at some point, Mike. :(

Quite agree about wanting to see her on the airshow circuit. I might have recognised her if she’d had her clothes on, just didn’t recognise her naked.

Mike – No.24 is a Polikarpov Po-2, currently under restoration to flight. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I’m looking forward to seeing her going round the bend at Old Warden!

Just as a matter of interest Elliott, what is the biplane stripped of its covering?

Bit late now, but edited for accuracy. GA isn’t really my fortรฉ. ๐ฎ
Thanks for the comments, one and all.

Trust you to notice that. Mind you I hate pictures being given incorrect captions too.

It’s a shame the Bucker is leaving our sunny isle, that is a sweet looking machine. If the old saying that if it looks right it flies right holds true I reckon it is a delight to fly.Terrific shots BTW and I like them all.

Nice set there, Elliott!
Especially like the aberration/facial displacement ๐ฎ of the bystander in the second SU-29 shot.
