hey all
Manchester is warm and sunny today ( 😀 ), so I took myself down to the southside for the first time in AGES, and managed to snap a few lovely jubblies. At midday I headed home and waited for the 3pm reopening of 23L (the joy of living so close to the airport!). I headed out again and wanted to find the southside rotation point from memory, so I drove round for ages, ended up in…somewhere…and then eventually gave up and headed back to the original spot by 23L lineups, by which time the photos were beginning to become backlit…argghhh. Annoyingly, the place where I wanted to be (i.e. rotation point) was right on the edge of the map that I had.
Anyone who has directions to the rotation point, I would be very grateful (I managed to get half way there from memory, but then got lost)
Anyway, here they are:

🙂 CC welcome!

Yeah, you can definately get very close to the spot, drove there a couple of times myself. No idea how I got there though!
Cracking work, Adam. Nice to see the a/c that took me to Malta and back in the first shot. 🙂

Don’t believe you can get to the rotation point by car… it ain’t schiphol!
You can get to the rotation point by car. If you find the right place, you are able to park in a little lane about 50 metres from where you stand to take the photos.

To get there park your car at the Moat House Hotel (Holiday Inn I think?). Cross the street and walk through the gate to the left of the tunnel. Follow that path for 15 minutes through 5 or 6 more gates and that’s it.
A Dutchmen giving directions to a local…. cool!

an amazing selection of shots adam! really nice work and so sharp! you’re really getting good with that olympus. the PIA ones are my favourites:)
i think that rotation point is down a long and windy road, which is like the first right after passing the moat house hotel. then you follow that road down and take a right then a left……but i am not sure. Paul probably has a better idea.
Glad your having fun in Manchester…..photography must be so much easier with your own wheels!
