Mixed bag of weather, started of dull, got very dark and ****ed down, dried out and got sunny towards the end of the day. Metering was a nightmare, no more than 10 stots before changing!!!. The flying was good, 2 B17’s in the air also lots of other debuts. Here are a few for now, may put some more up, but on a bit of a downer because of RIAT, so we’ll see.
Although the quality of this shot is crap, i wanted to put it up, as it is the 1st time 5 wingwalkers have flown at once, and also the 1st time coloured smoke has been used on a piston aircraft.
Not seen this ‘Tang before, nice…..

Dark skies

Thanks for taking the time to look.

She has a pressure carb but no inverted tank, this may change of course;)
If you are doing a 6 ship she can fly lead, until the tank is done.

Nice to hear that You like the Invader!
Its a lovely airplane to fly.The A-26 was at Gardermoen Airport in Oslo after the show in Bodø in june, then flown over the North Sea to Duxford on friday before The Flying Legends Airshow.
Sadly I couldn’t get to Duxford – I simply couldn’t afford the petrol that far, never mind the tickets.
I’ll try and put a little aside and make it a special trip next year. Unless you’re taking her to Yeovilton (next year), Branscombe and/or Culdrose this year.

Has it a pressurized carburetter so she can fly inverted?
Herman

Err – not quite. The claim about being the first to use coloured smoke is out of date by 4 years.
I used coloured smoke in my display in 2003 in a Yak52…. and the last time I looked, a Yak52 is definitely a piston engined aircraft…..
Trust you’ll tell Guinot this, and their commentator who is making a mis-claimer about this fact!

“He in the Jungmann is a she”
Yes, very nice, a man would be picking his nose, when the traffic gets heavy 😀
We sometimes hear the P&W R 2800’s of the A-26 crossing our small country. Always get me out of the house, then pester my colleagues: “What was that?”. Turboprops of the ATR, Jetstream, SAAB-kind don’t have the same “X-factor”. (Powerful and efficient as they may be.)
Best Regards

Love the A26 Invader – a rare opportunity to see it here. I believe it’s holed up in Scandanavia somewhere usually.

Wing walkers
Lovely atmospheric shot of the wing walkers with the clouds boiling up behind the formation, and a nice clear profile of the French marked Curtiss as well
