Hi all, a heads up for any Lightning fans.
Ex RSAF EE Lightning F53-671, will be available to view running at a special event on the 4th of March at 13:00, Gatwick Aviation Museum. This will be the first public runs for 671 to celebrate post overhaul. 671 is the only live, running and serviceable F53 type Lightning in the world, so please come and see her. Gate fee on the day will be £10, plus cockpit tours will be available in the morning before she runs, for a donation. There will also be unrestricted access to the aircraft for photography. All proceeds will go back into the air frame for its continued preservation.
Please note that 671 will NOT be run into reheat at this event, since site ground works have still not yet been finished to allow that.

First time visiting the museum, and the first time seeing a live Lightning, I’ll be certainly be back for more of both! (and a longer tour of the Shackleton too)
My shortened video of the engine run is here:

With the weather looking OK and the aircraft serviceable this looks like a definite for this Saturday!
