she looks to be in a fairly sorry state, but if she’s been stored in america somewhere really hot it could just be faded paint and dirt? why has she been left without cowls on though? reviveable?

Not bad going for an airframe reported as destroyed last year is it!
Need to see what state the fuse is in first then go from there. Couple of forumites have PM’d me (guys will respond to you all tonight when i get home 🙂 ) about it so there are options if there is enough worth preserving.
Right then folks – which airframe you want me to save next!? 😉 😀 (I am joking by the way!)

We have got plans and photos from when we restored our example, plus the actual Flea to use as a template in the same building if it helps.

Looking forward to the next issue! Caernarfon’s ‘Two in One’ Flea story has had an amazing turn of fortune! Could it be Millom’s ‘Two into Three’ ?
Possibly the fastest reversal in fortune for an airframe.
Pagen – the preservation movement as such has no weight! This forum has more influence in preservation than the bodies outside of it.

Did you notice an HM.14 Flea shaped piece of wooden packing amongst it all ?

Allow me to expand on Dave’s comment.
In short I am 99% confident we have also saved the Flea – totally by accident!!
Having spoken with the working party that went (I was unable to attend that day), it looks like on the return trip for MLZ’s fuselage and other bits our guys have used it stack control surfaces on.
So having spoken with Caernarfon if we indeed have it, then we have come to an agreement for me to take ownership of the little beast! 😀 Not sure what to do with it yet but big thing is it will be safe and sound in the good care of the chaps at Millom for now.

This has to be the forum achievement of the year.
Well done guys, it dosen’t get any better than saving and preserving an important airframe.
IF the Flea has been destroyed, the full weight of the UK preservation movement should come bearing down on Carnafon, and it shows that important types can still be dealt with by how the owners wish, and not by any legislation or moral guidance.
