In November 1999, I flew a SAS MD80 series aircraft out of Copenhagen into Heathrow. I didn’t see enough of the aircraft to be able to tell its exact type. Inside the cabin, the safety cards stated MD80/81/82 safety card and there was no indication from the crew what exact aircraft type I was travelling on.
Is there anywhere I could ever tell what aircraft I flew on that day?
Also, what are the generic differences between the MD80, 81 & 82?
Thanks in anticipation.

If you have the exact date and flight number you could write to the
SAS public relations department and ask them.

RE: Scandinavian MD80’s
you proberbly flew an MD 82. I did Copenhagen-LHR myself with an SAS MD 82. The -81 had new engines and a stretched fuselage and the 82 with new avionics and a re-worked fuselage.
