Rather than commenting I’ll just let the sequence of pictures speak for themselves. It certainly gave me a fright as I watched the “landing” unfold. 😮

What time was that landing, mate? I was there from about 11.30 until 4 and must have missed it 😮
Cheers

Not 100% sure of the time. We left the gang of you at the 06 threshold just after the first Centralwings arrived. Got to the footbridge just as the Norwegian “Silver” flew over our heads. 😡 I’m not even sure if you would have noticed anything unusual from the location you were at.

You will do mate… It’l be on Tuesday 4th Decemeber at around 1730 as our little easyJet lines up for approach into Funchal 🙂
We can hope, mate. We can hope. Beers at STN first will help make it more interesting. 🙂

Oh ive never seen the likes. Surely thats a dodgy landing , ive seen perfect landings in much worse crosswinds than were at EDI today. Just as well it wasnt a 747.

“When I said use all the runway, I meant the length not the width!”
Great photos!:)

Interesting stuff! I wonder if he is going to take off on the same side 😀

I think the pilot fancied leaving some rubber on that untouched part of the runway.
The really strange thing was there was no wind to speak of yesterday.
Typical. I go away to spot some Cessnas and I miss all the excitement.

Why don’t I ever get exciting landings like that?!

Captains last comments heard to be ” Next time use the Rudder”

Blimey… the wind must have caught him just after pic 3, as it looks like the perfect cross wind before it actually touches down.
Great Pics!

EEK! 😮
I wonder if the pilots know they have rudder pedals? 😉

I bet that was interesting for the passengers. Why don’t I ever get exciting landings like that?!
An excellent series of shots, thanks for sharing!
