SCHLEICHER kA 8B Parts wanted for cockpit section

Hello all,

Just bought my first ever cockpit section. Not the most glamerous of types but something a lil diff and she did look a tad sad on the mighty evil bay………….so I saved her. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As a newbie to the glider world does anyone know any sources or contacts that maybe able to help with parts or info to restore my new pride and joy.

No pics or specifec wants list yet as I dont pick her up till next weekend, but saying that I know for sure that I need an instrument panel and seat for starters. Maybe a nice shiney replacement canopy might be needed as well, looks bad in the pics on the listing but unsure if dust or more serious.

Any leads gratefully received.

Regards Martin

Ps If the big boys dont laugh at me I may come along to cockpitfest next year ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Phantom could I suggest that you make contact with Mr Hibbert about the instrument mentioned by Anon – he might be able to assist.

Glider bits

Phantom Phixer, When I was at the Cockpitfest last weekend Newark had their own stall and were selling a really nice variometer instrument complete for a fiver. As far as I know it didn’t sell so thay may still have it.

My sentiments indeed, although Aeroventure have taken a Kadet glider cockpit a couple of times approx 4 years ago.

Look forward to updates on this please…..

.

You mean I wouldn’t be the first to go with a glider ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Without a doubt as soon as Ive got her will post some pictures and then some updates as work progresses.

Sadly you wouldnโ€™t be the first with a glider, in 2007 on the Sunday there was a Monnett Monerai P Glider [well thatโ€™s what it said on the label] on display in Hangar 2, which attracted a good deal of interest.

So take it along! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Easy to find k8 parts, most gliding workshops will have lots of bits lying around. Try posting a request on www.gliderpilot.net, you might get some ribbing as its hardly an aircraft worth saving. I can probably help you with some basic instruments, i’ll have a look in my loft, lots of stuff up there. Where abouts are you in the UK?

Cheers for the info. I will use another name when I join that forum then if Im going to get some stick. ๐Ÿ˜€

Im in the midlands. Lady Godiva’s home, city of the grey concrete jungle aka Coventry.

Appreciate any bits and bobs youv’e got which could help.

I saw that one on Ebay. If I would’ve lived in the UK, I would’ve bought her. Good luck with the parts finding ๐Ÿ™‚
