Schneider Trophy 1929

Gents,

Can anyone help me complete this table of the official start times (crossing the start line at Ryde pier) for each aircraft in the 1929 Schneider Trophy

Waghorn S6 14:02:05.2
Dal Molin
D’Arcy Greig
Cadringher 15:04:08
Atcherley
Monti 15:44:08

I’ve checked contemporary copies of Flight, Aeroplane, Aviation and The Times, articles and books by Waghorn and Orlebar plus all the more recent books on the subject. Drawn a blank with the FAI, Royal Aero Club and Solent Sky and am awaiting a reply from the RAF museum.

Thanks

Mark,

That’s a nice clean copy of the programme you have there, and given extra interest with the lap speeds pencilled in. It would be good to think that the original owner was writing them down as the contest progressed, either copying them from one of the large display boards or perhaps listening to the commentary on the Tannoy system.

I’m still working to locate to actual timing data but its not looking good. I had hoped to post a copy of the lap simulator I have constructed in Excel but unfortunately the zip file just exceeds the upload limit.

Cheers
