Today is the 80th anniversary of Britain wining the Schneider Trophy outright. Not necessarily the most important event or anniversary but it has received coverage in the press, the ‘other’ magazine and so on. The planned seaplane fly-by has been postponed until tomorrow but I thought a trip down to Calshot was worthwhile none the less. After all Solent Sky have received a £50,000 cheque from the Heritage Lottery Fund for ‘Air, Sea and Speed’ – The Schneider Trophy 80th anniversary project.

Well they were certainly keeping it well hidden if it was there, place was dead as a dodo. Coffee shop not open at coffee time, Schneider hanger locked.
I’m off to Goodwood on Saturday so we will see whether they turn up there.:mad:
