Here are some photo that I just received from a friend in Austria. These were taken the day before, and the morning of our departure to Reno this year.

Here are some more photos from the flight to Reno from Breckenridge. Photographer Steve Dickey was in the backseat of Stew Dawson’s Sea Fury “Spirit of Texas”.
Thanks Steve, this is the only air-to-air shot I have of the Sea Fury!

Somebody ought to tell him that it’s against forum rules to fly with empty seats… 😉

Couldn’t find any rear seat ballast ? 😀 😀 😀
Cleaner/polisher/photographer/gofer, also suitable as rear seat ballast available.
Lots of taildragging experience in low performance warbird, err.. …. ok trainer 🙂
P.S. great pics, PLEASE keep them coming, I’ll never tire of them

If you ever need a pilot, drop me a line. Have high performance (-ish) taildragger rating. Will travel.
Regards,
Galdri😀 😀 😀
You know, you’re the first person to ever ask me that 😉

Yeah, hopefully….last I heard it was still awaiting an engine (and not the British one), would be nice to see it up and about again…been about a year and a half now since the engine packed it in…

Hi Mark,
Joe didn’t fly out of Breckenridge, but went direct from Denver to Reno and back. Hopefully next year his Sea Fury will be back in operation.

Steve, you guys ever intercept Thibodeau and the Mustang here in Denver, or did that plan not come together?

Steve,If you ever get the chance to try Oleg Maddox IL2 ,Forgotten Battles and Aces Expansion pack, and the Pacific Fighters addon as well.I know it does’nt have the Fury but it has loads of other aircraft from many 109’s ,P51’S,Spitfires ,it would be nice to hear a comparison from a real warbird pilot.

Very nice Steve.
BTW, have you had the opportunity to practice air combat with another aircraft? I mean in the very loosest terms, tail chases etc.
And have you tried any of the Sea Fury flight sims – if so, how does it compare with the real thing?
I didn’t get the opportunity to do many airshows this season with the Sea Fury, but I did get one show in where I was in a tight tail chase with Skip Holm in the Buchon. Guns guns guns could be heard repeatedly over the intercom. 😀
As for flight sims I’m afraid I haven’t tried one in years. The last one I tried was so “jerky” that it really wasn’t much of a simulator. Flying the Sea Fury is a very “fluid” thing, more pressure and feel than just moving the stick, but if you can recommend a good one I’d love to try it again.
As for photo #2…just another go around.

Photo number two is the first piece of evidence to be presented to the Fun Police. Someone there is guilty of having FAR too much enjoyment… 😀

Nice photos and a beautiful aircraft! I was pleasantly surprised about a month ago to see a Sea Fury tucked away in the corner of a local hangar. I never got close enough to see which one it was but I suspect it was N60SF since it was done up in RCN colours and looked like it had the Bristol Centaurus installed.
