Colour scheme direct from factory in the wheel bays and all interieor surfaces would have been yellow chromate primer, the cockpit obviously would have been black. any dark green colour you might see internally would mean the a/c had been modded/ repaired at a base servicing unit. I believe that the move from exterior matt finish to gloss was for ease of fresh water washing after flights over the sea.

Detail?

While the subject was brought up, do we also have any detail on panel lines/etc. on the upper and lower wings? Everyone seems to love to take pictures of the wing fold, but have yet to find any good shots of the upper and lower wing panel lines, and all the plans I have a quite light on surface details.
I would also be interested in the answer to the wheel well interior color question too……

Is VR930 historically accurate in this regard? What color would have been seen on the aircraft as it came from the factory. Were the wheel wells and gear door interiors generally sprayed with the finish color, would they have been left in some color of primer, or would they have been painted a different color entirely?

A search of the forum will bring up plenty of Sea Fury photos on the ground.
