Well VZ345 appears to have turned up at Duxford with the The Fighter Collection. According to their blog site – http://friends-of-tfc.blogspot.com/

Not physically – still at Yeovilton as I type this.

i spotted it had a £90000 reserve which I thought a bit strong considering what you can get for $ from courtesy. but hey, what do i know.

The sale of VZ345 will hopefully free up much valuable funds for other RNHF requirements. Sadly, the fact is that VZ345 was never going to fly with RNHF without a significant amount of manpower and money – both of which are not in abundance! This is one of the reasons why she was used as a spares source for the restoration of VR930 ten years ago. Hopefully someone with the necessary financial and engineering means will snap her up and return her to her former glory. 🙂

I’m rather surprised that the FAA/RN is letting this go considering the rather interesting discussion we’ve had on Heritage stuff. I would think there would be at least one Offical English Museum that would/could have this put on display, currect me if I’m wrong on that.

Airframe reality in the UK is that H.M. Government will try to get as much money as possible for MOD property [I assume it must still be on the MOD books??].

Everyone puts in their bids and the highest bidder normally gets it – even if that is the scrappy!

The airframe is not on the 2001 NAHR.

I remember seeing this Sea Fury in a hanger in Boscombe down in 1987 (I think) – She did not look that bad then, tail fin kind of bent at about 90% thats all (IIRC).. I wonder what she looks like now…..

I am hoping that Lee will be able to fill us in on that.

Anyone know where the ex Iraqi 2 seater is lurking?

So Bruce how bad is this Fury I read it flip over but they show no current photos of her.
