Dave,
I’ll let him know that you may be able to help out, as he does want to restore it to it’s former glory. I think that he has already been in contact with Everett regarding the nose cone, he will sort that out in the new year as funds allow!!! I’m sure that he said that he had spoke to them about a Canopy aswell.
Cheers
Steve

Yes, the drummer in my band, Adrian Sharpe purchased the cockpit of ZH807 a couple of months ago (he previously owned one of Llanbedr’s Sea Vixen D3 Cockpit’s a few years back). It is now located in Newport on the Isle of Wight but is currently indoors until he can get hold of a canopy and nose cone. He intends to fully restore the cockpit in due course.

Steve,
Thanks for the info.
I ~may~ be able to help with parts ~if~ the airframe is to be properly restored as opposed to it turned into a flight SIM etc… (which has happened to quite a few Harrier cockpits now thanx to the scarcity of parts).
Has he asked Everett Aero yet ?
They had a SHAR 2 nosecone, and its like a Harrier theme park up there.
Word of warning though, contary to opinion, a GR1/3 canopy will not fit due to the angle of the windscreen arch. It’ll only fit where it touches and leave a gap.
Best of luck with the interior……. 😀 😀

Exhibits went far and wide
Dove G-ARHX went to North East Aircraft Museum then to Aeroventure
Jetstream Nose as Dove
Whirlwind 7 went ot Australia
Vampire went ot MaltaNot sure about the others
I was more interested in the smaller items that were in the museum.

Still no response to whether the SHAR was the ex-Booker one though? 😮
No, on the contrary, Mr Zoot’s post #11 correctly ascertained that it was with Mr Halletts collection at FAST, Farnborough.
For info’, ZA195 is not the only SHAR you can play chess on ! 😀

Well that was my thought too…… so my assumption was correct after all – what would a contestant’s mum know anyway…lol

The Sea Harrier at Bentwaters is XZ439.

It’d be hard for it to have been Lakenheath as I can assure you it is still very active (looks out of window at runway… 😉 )

Going back to talking of Booker, what happened to the old “Booker Aircraft Museum” and the artifacts they had?

Isn’t it Bentwaters.
Got to admit I had thought it was Bentwaters at first, but then one of the show’s contestants Mum’s mentioned that they had previously visited Lakenheath many years ago although the contestant wouldn’t remember it… so the location secret’s out…..lol

So what happened to the ex saudi one at Duxford. used to sit under the Vulcan wing in hanger 1.

In that case it’s likely to be Dick Everett’s Strikemaster which has been at Bentwaters for a few years.

Theres also a Jet provest there. looks somewhat like the ex saudi arabian air force example that was at duxford.

Looked like it to me (in the 10mins of the entire show I have seen)
I don’t know how you could put up with it that long.

Anyone else spotted the same looking SHAR appearing as set dressing on “Space Cadets” Satellite Show on E4 (follows right after the Channel 4 show). It’s parked up in a a HAS at Lakenheath at the moment for it’s ‘live’ appearances along with what appears to be an ex-Northolt VIP-fit HS125??
